At Note From Live Nation 7/30/08

Hi Michael,

I have been out of the office on vacation but returned to some exciting news!  Your painting was sold on-site at the Mark Knopfler show!  Glenn Close (the actress) is a close friend of Mark and fell in love with the painting.  She offered $5000.00 for the painting on the spot.  While I am sad to say that she took the piece with her and we will not have it on display at the auction (I will make some sort of a placeholder – a print or something) I am thrilled with sale.  This is a great start to our goal of raising money for both Artists for Humanity and Action for Boston Community Development!

Thank you again for your excellent work!

Best, jen

Rock & Art is a Live Nation program that unites visual artists with national touring musicians. Founded in spring of 2006, the inaugural season took place at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. A large-scale painting (4’ x 4’) was created by local Boston artists for each of the headlining musical acts that played at the Pavilion, many of which were signed by the performers. Upon completion of the 2008 concert season each original piece was auctioned at The Opera House with proceeds benefiting local non-profit organizations: Action for Boston Community Development and Artists For Humanity.

This season the paintings will be 30” x 30” and will feature work by over 40 local and national artists. All paintings will be auctioned at The Opera House on November 15 with proceeds benefitting ABCD and AFH. If you are interested in learning more about the artists who participated in last year’s program or would like to track this season’s artwork, please go to our website at www.rockandart.org. Tickets for the event will be on sale soon.
